Quint Buchholz was born
in Stolberg, near Aachen, in 1957 and grew up in Stuttgart. He began
studying art history in Munich before studying painting and graphic
arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Since 1979 he has worked
as an illustrator and painter for various publishing houses in Germany
and abroad. He has illustrated more than 30 books, many of which
have received awards.

Buchholz established his
reputation with illustrations for numerous books for children and
teens, including works by Jostein Gaarder, Elke Heidenreich and
Amos Oz, and through the design of many book covers and posters.
Quint Buchholz lives with his family in Munich.
