Rosina Wachtmeister
|
Rosina Wachtmeister (born in Vienna, 1939) is an Austrian artist. She grew up near the Attersee in Austria, then, at the age of 14, she moved to Brazil with her family where she attended art school and studied sculpture and set designs. She quickly achieved international fame through a number of exhibitions. Eventually she returned to Europe, where, particularly because of her charming paintings of cats, she achieved great recognition. She eventually settled in Capena, north of Rome in what used to be the “San Michele Archangelo” church, where she still has her home today. Her Das Lied von der Liebe is a book whose graphics illustrate the biblical Song of Songs.
