Francine Van Hove ist an illustrator and contemporary painter. She portrayes mostly sensuous nude young women. The lighting which exposes them is of a precise quality which makes their reality turn slightly, almost imperceptibly, away from everyday reality. Her figures (she always paints from "live" models) define certain canons of beauty. She is inspired by daily life, painting and literature. She models herself on La Tour, Ingres, Degas, the painters of the Italian Renaissance and Dutch painting.
